Chinese builders and engineers continue to beautify infrastructure with additive technologies: Nanjing Jiayi Precision Machinery Manufacturing helped renovate Nanjing's emergency bridge by installing a cute 3D printed fence.

According to the head of the enterprise Li Dzin, the cost of the work was initially estimated at one hundred and fifty thousand yuan, that is, approximately 1 million 300 thousand rubles, and the deadline for completion was one month. But this is if you rely on traditional production technologies. Due to the use of additive technologies, the cost fell by about three times, and the production time was reduced to ten days, and this includes all stages from design to installation.

Chinese craftsmen are also busy with import substitution. Nanjing Jiayi Precision Machinery Manufacturing offers 3D printing services not only for building structures, but also for furniture, decor and other products made from cement mixtures and metal bars, using a 3D printing machine of its own design based on an industrial robotic arm.

“If we use imported technologies and equipment, the cost, of course, is high. But we conducted independent research and developed our own patented apparatus. All stages of the process, from design to production, are based on our own technologies, ”says Li Jin.

The used concrete mix consists of cement with the addition of quartz sand. Since the fence does not play the role of a supporting structure, it was not reinforced, but even in this form, the fence can withstand a pressure of 60 MPa.
