CSM Bakery Solutions, a global leader in ingredients, products and services for the food processing industry, and 3D Systems Corporation, maker of 3D printing solutions, announced that they have reached an agreement that will allow two industry leaders to join forces to bring to market innovative and creative 3D culinary products
CSM will participate in the development and have exclusive rights to use the ChefJet Pro 3D printer. Recall that this device is a professional confectionery 3D printer designed for printing with various food materials. The printer is based on a variant of 3D inkjet printing, forming thin layers of sugar-containing powder materials by processing with water. Consumables include sugar, caramel, and chocolate. The device is capable of creating multi-color models that combine various flavors: apple, cherry, vanilla, chocolate, etc.
The partnership will collaborate on food 3D printers, develop the materials they use, and market the technology. CSM and 3D Systems formalized the agreement and began work to bring the prototype equipment to market.
