For the benefit of everyone we would like to draw the attention of the respected 3D community to Intel's new development - the RealSense ™ sensor line.

This is a kind of development of the already well-known Kinect gaming sensor, on the basis of which a very common 3D Sense scanner is made. This also includes the new webcam with the scanning function of the image depth Creative Senz3D.

For software developers, there is a ready-made SDK https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-realsense-sdk and https://software.intel.com/ru-ru/intel-realsense-sdk/details. It remains only to write inexpensive, or free 3D scanning software based on these sensors. According to data from import forums, using these sensors you can achieve significantly better detail and scanning speed than with Kinect and Sense. Another way is to take the Developer Kit for 99 bucks as a basis, place it in your case and make a new advanced Sense scanner. Just keep in mind that the R200 is a more 'farsighted' sensor, while the F200 is designed to recognize nearby objects.
