Professional photographer Mikhail Larkin printed on a 3D printer the MOON ONE radio-controlled lunar rover of its own design.

The lunar rover, named Cheburashka, is equipped with six wheels with independent suspension, a manipulator and a video camera. With the exception of the aluminum frame, shock absorbers and wheels from a radio-controlled car, the rest of the details are made using 3D printing.

In addition, Cheburashka received an unusual first-person video broadcast system based on the GoPro camera. Thanks to special Fat Shark glasses for watching videos, his operator can see everything that happens in real-time with the “eyes” of a moon rover.

The glasses are also equipped with a gyroscope so that the operator can control the movement of the MOON ONE by turning his head. Cheburashka is able to operate on a single battery charge for up to one and a half hours and can leave the operator up to 5 kilometers away.

The author spent a month and a half on the development and assembly of the MOON ONE lunar rover using the Cubify Invent computer-aided design platform. All files for 3D-printing "Cheburashka" posted in open access.
