Zortrax has announced a new branded consumable for the Zortrax M200 printer - Z-PCABS. The new filament is a highly stable blend of ABS and polycarbonate (PC). Ideal for enclosures and functional prototypes.
PCABS is a composite material that relates to impact-resistant amorphous polymers. The material is most widely used in the automotive industry (battery housings, bumpers, radiator grilles, wheel caps, exterior mirror housings, etc.).
Also used in other areas: housing parts for household and office equipment (computers, laptops, printers, displays, copiers, keyboards, mobile phones, cash registers), power tools, medical equipment parts, sporting goods, etc.
The stiffness and strength of the composition is comparable with ABS plastic and polycarbonate, and the impact resistance is much higher than that of ABS plastic, which is especially effective at low temperatures.
It is resistant to alcohols, water, salt solutions and oils.
