The Chinese company Beijing Huitianwei Technology, better known as "HORI", has released the largest 3D printer in its line - the Z1000.

The construction area of the new apparatus reaches 1x1x1 m using the widespread and affordable FDM-printing technology. From many competitors, such as the devices of the famous German company BigRep, the device is distinguished by the presence of a closed working chamber, which favorably affects the work with plastics that suffer from high heat shrinkage.

Although the apparatus is primarily intended for polylactide printing, a closed chamber allows you to work with three-millimeter filaments of ABS, HIPS, PETG, PVA, PE, PP, nylon, carbon-fiber composites, etc. The printer is not equipped with a heated platform, but automatic calibration is provided. Like other printers of the company, Z1000 can be ordered in a two-extruder version under the designation Z1000D. The heating range of the hot end is 170-260 ° C, and the layer thickness is set within 50-400 microns.

In addition to proprietary software, the Z1000 can work with the popular Cura, Slic3r and Skeinforge. The on-board interface consists of a convenient, seven-inch color LCD display with support for English, Chinese and Russian. Data transfer is possible via USB connection or SD card. Additional features include emergency power, automatic pause and resume printing in the event of long-term power outages, as well as pickup or cut-off sensors.
