At the Canon EXPO in Paris, the global giant introduced its own development concept, although it has been a distributor of 3D Systems in Europe for two years.
Canon basically 'teased' the audience with a video clip, which is presented below. It says that their 3D printer has better and faster printing, unlike counterparts. And also that the post-processing process is reduced to zero:

The prototype of the printer is distinguished by the function of laminating the finished product. When the printer will be released is still unknown, however, Canon's intentions are confirmed by the entry into 3DPA. 3DPA is a global trading organization for 3D printing equipment manufacturers.
3DPA Director Jan Ferguson commented on the event: “By joining our organization, Canon demonstrates its serious intentions regarding the development of 3D printing technologies and equipment. We look forward to working with them.”
