German RepRap has released a range of new filaments, including new PET-G and polyurethane shades, improved ABS options and UV-resistant ASA.
ESD ABS
The material was developed at the request of users who need a conductive filament. Basically, the material is designed to discharge static electricity charges and is suitable for the manufacture of mounts for electronic devices and electronics from dust. 1.75mm black plastic is available in 750g (€ 98.70) and 2.10kg (€ 179) spools.
Performance ABS
This material is generally similar to conventional ABS plastic, but has a reduced heat shrinkage, which makes it easier to print geometrically complex and large-sized items. Performance ABS is available in natural shade and 1.75mm diameter. The filament is sold in reels of 750 g (€ 35) and 2.10 kg (€ 79).
ASA
The acrylonitrile styrene acrylate copolymer (ASA) can be considered an alternative to ABS for outdoor use. The material is characterized by higher deformation heat resistance, and at the same time good chemical resistance and low vulnerability to ultraviolet radiation. Strength characteristics, on the other hand, are similar to ABS, so this plastic is well suited for making functional parts. The material is available as a natural filament with a diameter of 1.75 mm and is available in 750 g (€ 35) and 2.10 kg (€ 79) spools.
TPU and PET-G
PET-G and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) are now available in new colors - gray and black respectively. PET-G is a steadily gaining popularity material of high strength with good intercoat adhesion and heat deformation resistance up to 80 ° C. A filament spool with a diameter of 1.75 mm and weighing 750 g costs € 35, and 2.10 kg - € 79.
TPU 93 is a flexible material with an elongation at break of the order of 500%, resistant to wear and ultraviolet radiation.
